Hello family,
It has been a wonderful wekk filled with a few great spiritual experiences.
Monday: We went to dinner with an awesome investigator named JB. We went to a mexican restraunt it was not bad for being in the middle coshocton where no mexicans live.
Tuesday: We did some service for the Welkers. Meaning Elder Decker and I tied up like 250 tomatoe plants. Then we did some other missionary work. Later on we had an investigator family the Hammonds come over to the Welkers. That was awesome expect there little girl got sick and started throwing up. So that was not good! I was so proud of Darin and I because we are sympethetic pukers and we stayed strong!
Wednesday: Talk about a day FULL of meetings. We had zone conference from 8:30am to 4pm. Majority of what we discussed was being a concecrated missionary. A topic I have been pondering a lot lately personally. Then after Zone conference we went to dinner with a member in the Newark ward that is an insert to the Branch. Then right after dinner I went to a stewardship interview with Presidnet Birch. I love President Birch! He is probably one of the most spiritual men I have ever met! I have a meeting with him every 3rd Wednesday of the month. It correlates with the stake mission cordination that President Daines, the zone leaders and sister training leaders go to. So I go on splits with the Zone Leaders while Elder Decker and Elder Calderwood work in our area. So I have the opportunity to be in the stake mission cordination meetings. After this meeting we go to a specific ward and with members of their ward axauillaries we go and minister to members of the ward. I love ministering! I love aspects of missionary work but ministering to those within and outside the church is my all time favorite thing to do. I had the great opportuinity to go with President Birch (I have had a few opportunities to go on ministering visits with President Birch in many different wards). We went to a family that had just joined the church about a year ago. It was amazing! We were able to teach this father newly ordained to the Melchizedek priesthood how to give all his children a father's blessing for his children to return to school. Then we were able to assist them in the trial of being shunned by their family because of their membership in the church. We assisted them by pointing them to the temple to find solace. It was incredible and very spiritual!
Thursday: We had exchanges with the other Coshocton elders! That was super fun! We taught a few lessons and were able to save a few souls.
Friday: We did some weekly planning and did some more missionary work. We were able to see Tom so that was great! He is aweosme!
Saturday: We again to more missionary work! Nothing to exciting but nothing to sad just a normal day.
Sunday: This is another great spiritual experience I had this week. In Doctrine and Covnenants 84: 33 states, "For whoso is faithful unot the obtaining of these two priesthoods of which I have spoken, and the magnifying their callings, are sanctified by the Spirit unto the renewing of their bodies." Well this occured for me yesterday. All night I tossed and turned and did not get much sleep. Then at about 3am Sunday morning I woke up feeling very sick. I sat in the bathroom for about 45 minutes thinking I was going to throw up. Well I went back to bed still feelings sick. I was 100% sure I was not going to go to church. I prayed and basically told the Lord that I cannot be sick because I have lots of things I have to do and there are many people I have to meet with. So I tried to fall back asleep. I continued the rest of the night in and out of sleep till the blaring alarm went off at 630. I was not happy. But I felt a little better. Right when I woke up I was about 65% sure that I was not going to church. Well I decided I should get ready and see how I feel so I did. I decided as crappy as I feel I still better go to church. The moment I walked out the door I felt fine. I had strength and was not tired and did not feel sick anymore. I went a did everything I need to. It was a super busy sunday full of interviews and meetings. Then we finished the night. Right when I started to unwind and get ready for bed all my strength left me and I felt sick again. It was super weird but I know the Lord sustained me till I did not need my strength anymore.
Hope you had a great week!
Love,
President Baird
